Thanks! I have booked flights into porto, but now a friend has said that there are no beaches near porto?! I'm really confused. I thought it was on the coast with lots of beaches? Thank you

There are some beaches around Porto. Aveiro is your closest one but the best spots are on the LIsbon coast! If you havea change to get there, let me know and I can send you some more details. Have fun!

Once again KS's attempts to lure travellers to Lisbon get in the way of the geographical facts! There are plenty of beaches nearer to Porto than Aveiro as a look at the map on this site will confirm. You might want to avoid the ones in or very close to the city itself however. Let me know if you want any more info.
