RE: surflevel portugal compared to france

What do you mean surfing is harder there? Conditions change every day. The south of Portugal is good all year, in France you will need a thick wetsuit in winter time.

in portugal in summer you have guincho beach, praia grande, you have Costa da Caparica that have a lot of beaches, peniche, ericeira etc...

in winter you have estoril zone that have a lot of beaches like carcavelos beach, S.Pedro beach etc...

This is North Atlantic man... a bit thougher than those "tropical" seas. Sometimes in summer and somehow rarely in winter you'll find postcard-like conditions
