Depends on where abuts in Portugal you go to. The South has warmer water but its really crowded and there are less options in regards to spots.
Lisbon is great because there are many beaches so you can search around for less crowd and good waves. Let me know if you need any help, will be happy to reply
Take care and have fun. Karin

Normally in June the wheather starts to get warmer, but the best surf is in Ericeira, its near Lisbon and also many beaches and spots.

I live in Portugal there are already 4 years, and in my opinion the best place of waves is Praia Grande and Ericeira, undoubtedly, but if it is to learn, I recommend to you Praia Praia.
If you are necessary more information, send to me a mail that I will help you with great pleasure

Hi there! I am heading to Portugal for only ~10 days next week and looking for a cool place to be located with some surfing and diving, but warm too! I am from Canada (hence wanting the warm weather tan) and will be on a work break from the UK for the 10 days. I think I will be traveling on my own unless a work mate comes along. So a recommendation for a 'chill' town with some fun would be awesome!

I just went to Portugal last week for some surfing, I went through www.alentejosurfcamp.com which made the holiday so much easier than trying to find out where to go by myself! They provide wetsuits and boards and the beaches were so beautiful with amazing waves with warm water! i was surfing with shorts and no wetsuit:) Go to Alentejo, not so crowded as the South but still gets the waves and weather!
