Accommodation costs and Work Prospects in Ericiera

« on: June 10 2008 05:06:00 »

I am looking to stay in Ericiera for possibly a month or so starting in August and was wondering to get an idea on costs for accommodation.
Also I am looking at maybe picking up a job while I am there. Either working in a bar, surf shop or even surf camp. etc.
I am from Australia but currently based in London and keen to get out of this soul detroying place for the summer and into some decent waves. I have been surfing for 15 years+ and also have my Surf Life Saving Certificate and Bronze Medalian, if that helps with the surf camps.

Is English widely understood in Ericiera or do you need to pick up Portuguese if you wish to work there?

Any help would be great.

Hey mate I am going at exactly the same time to do a similar thing. I am a Kiwi and have been surfing for 14 years.
I am probably going to stay in the local campround on the coast, near to most of the good spots in the area. Th campgroung is €360 for 60 days.
That is one om my options. I am just looking in to board security. If you do find something and you need someone to fill a space let me know, ill be down. Ill do the same.
