2009 summer Portugal« on: May 14 2009 11:05:00 »
Trip is planned. Lifetime surfer who lives on the coast himself. The ocean has been my life. Portugal has been one area on my list to visit. It has come...I will be there in July...I have a week in the Algarve area. Questions...will there be surf this time of year? Can I get lucky? Spring Suit? Water temperatures during this time? Winds? It sounds like this isn't the best time of the year to surf here? However, it is my only opportunity to visit this time of year...is it possible that I could score some waves? PS...like get a way places with less people...respectful, knowledgable experienced lifetime surf...looking for out of the way surf...thank you..Rig

Yes with a bit of luck you'll be able to score some good waves.
Spring suit is indeed the way to go.
Check out the Carrapateira and Sagres area.

dude, head over to sagres. its the south-western peninsula of portugal, in algarve.
definitely surf there all year, take a look.
sagres is great because it has beaches facing several directions, so somewheres always gonna get swell, while another will be out of the wind.
theres a campsite there and two surf camps. take a 3,2 wettie.
