Northern Scotland Surf« on: October 18 2006 11:10:00 »
I am heading to northern Scotland in mid-November to take my brother on a surfing weekend before he gets hitched. We're a couple of Aussies and have heard many good things about Thurso and Brimms Ness. We have been living in England and Ireland respectively for the past two years and have all the necessary gear. The only problem is we have extremely limited knowledge on which breaks work best with what swell, direction and winds etc. Does anyone out there please have some site-specific knowledge they are willing to impart on us? If you do and you're in the area when we're there, we'll be glad to meet up and share a few waves (hopefully) and a definitely few quiet ones!

I was there a couble of years ago in early October and saw good waves of the break wall on Thurso harbour in front of an old castle one mal rider out . I also saw good waves off a pre historic viking village in Orkney Islands
