surfing the solstice at midnight?

i've heard that people surf through all night during the long days around the solstice, in a fortnight -- thurso or maybe even orkney -- anyone know if this really happens and where?

aye, i know people who surf at 3 in the morning.  the further north you go the better chance u have of doing that.  i found that the light is at its dimest between 11.30 and 3.
