Im from yorkshire and surf eastcoast mostly, but spent a week surfing shetland around the summer soltest in 04. Theres a local surfer who knows the score big time...but i lost his number. He lives by the sea on the west side of the island. When i first landed i checked out the two south bays next to the airport...which picks up altantic swell...but that swell was dying off. Then theres some sheltered beaches halfway up the south part of island. But the two north islands Urnst and Ernst are the ones i surfed on a northwest swelll or was it northeast swell. Theres a ferry every 45min or so. My faourite beach was Gloup beach which has shelter.
