roof racks

As a bigginer i was wondering if its better to have a permanent roof rack or the onse that get the straps shut it the door?

The strap on is good in a way but I found I needed to use my board bag and tie a rope to the front and back tow bar too stop too much movement.

Theyre ok for 1 or 2 boards.

I have a 9 foot longboard though.

The straps shouldnt damage your car as they are padded on top.

If you want to buy a sceond hand set, I am near Inverness if your around there. I am selling mine second hand as they dont really fit my new mpv.

yeah its because i live near st Andrews and i thought that i would get a board bag and straps because my  car Already has a roof rack , and i then thougth it would be easier to get a portable one

If you have a roof rack, thats fine.
However, if you ever fly abroad, straps are good for all those hire cars.
