How did you get on with the surf in SL?
I am going there in October and would love to know if there will be waves about.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

There are three big spot to surf, and lately the waves were not too bad!
One is in Bureh beach http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ar36k212pcY&feature=related
It works very well with the high tide, sometimes in the very good days we have 1.5, 2 meters waves (this is a little bit exceptional)
The other two work more on the low tide, River No2 and Franco (which is also the best restaurant on the beach!)

One of the most exciting surfing spots in Sierra Leone, West Africa is Turtle islands. A surfing trip to this remote location takes careful preparation and needs a reliable operator. Daltons Banana Guesthouse is the most experienced and frequent operator to the Turtle Islands.
