Wher to Surf Canaries. For Begginers« on: December 16 2005 12:12:00 »
Normally surf in Newquay or Abersoch in the Uk. All my friends are great at it so I am determined to get better. Only two of us going and both begginers really can you please suggest the best place in the canaries to lear/improve on the surfing. Also somewhere nearby that hires boards.

Fuerteventura tends to have several good spots for beginners aswell.. going from sandy beaches to easy mellow reef breaks...

I learnt to surf during a week in Lanzarote last year . I understand it has a very consistent swell, compared to other Canary islands; it is also a smaller island, which enables surf schools to reach easily the spot best adapted to conditions (however, I guess your surf school would take you mostly to the Famara beach break; a good place to learn.
