Hi Alex, I am based on the Lisbon coast but go to La Coruna to visit a friend, quite often. There are plenty of beaches around there to surf and really nice and quiet spots but you do need a car. access is not that easy. There is plenty of accommodation there but all depends on what you want. Most of the beaches are closer to Ferrol than they are to La Coruna. If you need any more help let me know and maybe see you up there sometime or if you come to Lisbon, give me a shout! Take care

I am from La Coruña.
There is a lot of waves. Even in september there is waves in the same city beach (orzan)...or near (valcobo, la cueva)
The best waves are very close (20-50 Km)
Gonig to the south - Rzao and Malpica. They are very good.
Going to the North the fest waves of Galicia - Ferrol!
There is 3 very good waves that y like too much. Pantin (the mitical) Campelo (a beatiful beach and very dificult to find..) and doniños for me, the best wave in Galicia.
In september there is still good weather, you are going to enjoy!
I put you my mail if you want that i put the beaches in one map erlguta (at) yahoo.es
Excuse my bad english

You seem like the man in the know. I am visiting the area in August with a bunch of girl friends. Some are surfers, some are sun worshippers. I need somewhere with a great night life, fantastic waves, beautiful beaches, friendly surfers and somewhere to rent gear.
Got any good ideas? I would love to hear from you
