surfing spain Jan-May

i was just curious about the surf on the mediteranean coast between Jan and May. Im considering studyin abroad there, but im torn between finding a place for surf or for snow(boarding that is). i know i could go to aplace like Australia/NZ but i also was hoping to learn some spanish. if anyone has any advice itd be much appreciated.

Hi zach,
I love the Cadiz area,
ok the surf isnt huge like portugal in winter but ive had some great waves there.

I plan to spend 3 or so months down there this winter too.
I also like to learn Spanish. It is a nice part of Spain unspoilt a lot less than the costa del sol. I wouldnt surf on the med though, Ive seen some good waves but why when you can be on the atlantic?

Why not go to San Sebastian or the Bilbao area... great for studying... and the surf gets pretty good aswell I have heard... those areas are really nice.
