First timers surfing

« on: March 14 2007 01:03:00 »

I am a 40 year old man with a ten year old son, I want to take my son surfing (first time for both of us), we are both fit and quick learners. I've heard about the north Spanish coast as a great destination, we also like sun and seafood! Is there any region or particular area you could recommend for the two of us to get our first surfing experience.

a couple of years ago i went to somewhere called Calpe, which has got really decent waves, and the water's warm as well! around the town are some great seafood places to eat as well, they cook things like octopus ink paella, which is actually really tasty!its very hot there, the temperature averaged about 35 degrees that summer. the only downside i can remember is that although the beach was far from being overcrowded, there were still quite a few people in the water and on the beach.
