hitch hiking and camping in random fields...« on: June 04 2005 14:06:00 »
Hey - I m heading to North Spain for the summer to find some surf and was wanting to keep it cheap. Is it possible to hitch hike round there ? with a board..? and was also wondering if it was possible to pitch tents in random fields ? or are camp sites pretty cheap? Have a great summer everyone
Thank you !

hey, are you any wiser now? i'm planning on doing the same (i.e. tent and surf) for 3 weeks, starting near Santander and finishing in Biaritz. Ideally I would select just a few beaches along the way that are close to both town and the surf... let me know if you have any suggestions!

Just wondering if any of you guys got any tips on the camping and hitch hiking? Im planning to travel the north coast from September onwards with a minimal budget. So any tips would be much appreciated! Cheers, Tobie

I will be going from Scotland then to portsmouth or wherever the ferry goes to santander and then driving to Cadiz area eventually, trying to get in Gallicia and some Portugal.
Anyone who wants a lift to any of these points and some surf stops along the way in exchange for a bit of pertol money.
I have a people carrier and roof rack, enough room for two or three people at the moment.
Should be a good one.
E mail me if anyone is interested.

Suggest you drive to Plymouth to pick up the Santander ferry! (It doesn't leave Portsmouth - ever!)
