Spanish Surf Med - Girona - Costa Brava?

Hello everyone. I know all about the surf in the Basque country and France etc.. but I want to know if anyone has got surf on the Costa Brava region, Girona provence, i.e the med side nearer France? Only seem to be able to find threds about breaks near Barcelona. If so what winds make it work etc.

Well I know that! I live here you see and if I can face the 8 hour journey up to the north coast I would go more often......But- I have heard if you get the right day it will work on this coast, being my local breaks I am more interested in getting 10 more days out in the surf a year than not. I want to hear from people who have been out and seen it working, not heresay, and where it was, what time of year, what winds and swells. Preferably more than 3/4 of an hour north of Barcelona.
Please forgive the specifics!!

I live in Girona Spain and surf about once a week. From the middle of september until may, but you can surf a couple times a week. The majority of the time, the waves are about .5 to 1 meter high. Normaly when I go it is about 1 to 2 meters high. A couple of times a month, it can get even bigger. At least a couple of times a tear it can get over 4 meters high. Most of the beaches are small coves or point breacks. You have to have some experiance in the area to know where to go and you have to know the winds, because there are strong and shifty. The waves are a lot better on the atlantic side, but the costa brava is better than you may think.

There are several beaches which are good close to Girona. The surf is good when prediction is good. I have surfed here about 10 times during the last 8 months. Mostly surf is in: S'Agaro, Torre Valentina, la Fosca & a bit more north of la Fosca with southern swell. But Sant Marti d'Empurias, Pals & Torre Valentina also work with northern swell. Some spots need attention and experience but most of them are pretty easy & nice. It can be crowded on some days, so you better know how to behave on the water. Hang loose ;)

We heard about the surfing on the east coast of Spain. We are two girls who are travelling through Spain this summer and we would love to get some surfing lessons. Does anyone know any nice spots where we could get some lessons or is anyone willing to give us some lessons?

Would love to get a reply!
