So im gonna go to San Sebastian this summer to try to learn some spanish at this spanish school and hopefully get some good waves. I know its not going to be epic but anyone know what the waves are typically like there in the summer? Also if anyone is gonna be there and wants a surf/drinking buddy let me know. Also if anyone is renting a car or going to have one out there let me know also because i would LOVE to hit up mundaka and the other spots that are driving distance from san sebastian.

Was in san sebastian for ten days last august and think i surfed 8 of those days. One of the days was good, nice size, overhead with a god clean swell in the water. The other days were about shoulder-head high, clean enough but nothing epic but still fun. We surfed the beach in the city so it was really busy, like at least 50 surfers in the water and then on the inside hundreds of people swimming. Im not used to this coming from ireland.

Overall, it was nothing epic except for that one day but the other days were good, sunny weather, waves and hot chicas on the beach. Two of the days were completely unsurfable i.e. too small and we were chatting to the guys in Pukas surf shop (cool guys) and they were saying to drive up to hossegor.

Hi Sam

I live in NZ and am planning on exploring northern Spain this summer from early June on. I speak fluent French and have had Spanish on my hit list of languages for some time. I'm a qualified beginner as far as surfing goes and love it-am ready for some good but not huge unbroken waves so reckon this is a good place to start.

Hossegor is where a couple of kiwi instructors I know have worked and yeah its meant to be hot, hot-in European terms anyway.

I'm also interested in basing myself in Spain and working part time. Does anyone have information about casual employment? I have waitressing experience aplenty and have worked in retail. My background is as a Marketing Manager.

Hey all, im thinking of heading to the coast for summer 2. Can’t stand London anymore. Keep hearing how wicked San Sab is, so I’m thinking its might be my next destination. Dose anyone know how easy it is to find a share house or work without papers??

I used this website last year in Barcelona...... www.loquo.com.... if was pretty good.

Anyway I’m travelling solo at this point so if anyone is heading over early June, lets talk : )

I will be there by the first of july. I want to find someone to go check out some of the other spots like mundaka and hossegor. Does anyone know how easy it is to get to those spots by train?

I'm also hopefully going to be travelling this area around early to mid July, would be great to meet up with some people for a few nights out and some exploring. Anyone know of any cheap places to stay in the region, i'm a pretty broke student in desperate need of summer stoke!

I am going to San sebastian for two weeks, fron june the 29 - 13 of july. I am a 17 year old girl from Norway, and I have surfed some waves before, but I am not very good ;) I am taking Spanish and Surfing courses at Lacunza. Anyone else doing this? If you wanna talk before you go, just find me on facebook. That would be fun, cause I am going alone!
