RE: North Spain in summer« Reply #1 on: May 09 2009 20:05:00 »
The Basque region is wonderful. You've probably heard of Mundaka...if not La Salvaje in Sopelana is a good spot for all levels...both are about 30 minutes outside of lively Bilbao. Both are not too crowded (especially Mundaka, which is not for beginners) small-town feel, 98% locals...incredibly free-spirited, friendly, beautiful mountain scenery & best food in all of Spain! Great parties in the summer going on all around the area to celebrate the saints days. Also, Santander in the region of Cantabria has some nice surf spots. Enjoy the surf!
