Surfing in Barcelona??« on: October 18 2010 18:10:00 »
I am from La Jolla in San Diego and am very seriously considering moving to Barcelona for a year or two to work in a lab the University of Barcelona..
Does anyone know how often the waves are ride-able in the area (e.g. Barceloneta, Comandancia, etc.)?
How hard is it to take occasional trips to the North coast?

I moved ot Barcelona several months ago. Barceloneta is easy to get to and very easily accessible by metro. There is some surfing in the winter months but once summer comes, there are barely any waves. Know that when there are waves, everyone is out so surfers are practically on top of each other. You can head up north for better waves.
