Are there any waves in Colombo?

Just got a job in Colombo for the next 3-4 months and despite a mythical break on the map I've heard nothing about waves in Colombo.  From what I gather there aren't waves in the summer (at all?) on the west, so Ill be taking many long busrides, but when the fall comes is there anything that works north of hikkaduwa?  Also, please advise if its possible to get a motorcycle rigged for board carrying, if thats legal in the first place.  Thanks for the love,  cheers,
Mac

RE: Are there any waves in Colombo?

Yes there are waves at galle straight out the front of my motel ‘Marino beach’ there were grinding let’s and rights with hollow sections and spits. The rain made the water look like poo but if your keen cross the railway track climb down the rock wall and paddle out to the outer back. Every person I spoke to about it in Columbo was negative and had no idea about surfing. My advice is paddle out and have a go.???????????????????????????
