Yeah, we'd be interested to know this too. We're thinking of heading over in a couple of weeks but don't know much about that side of the island and have no idea how it is after the tsunami. That coast was definitely badly hit. Let me know if you find anything out.

i've just spent over 9 weeks in sri lanka, about 3 weeks in aragum bay last month. about a month and a half ago the place wasw starting to be ready to recieve tourists. the place was pretty much flattened, but people were getting their buisnesess together.trying to salvage a season.
the surf was just starting to come then so must be there by now.basically, the area will still be a bit of a construction site, but can and have been taking tourists again.in fact, tourism will really help these people out.
hope that helps b

rupa's family is all fine. no one killed in the immediate family. his place is pretty much ruined. he has now 10 small bungalow's up and running, restaurant is running. his family home was intact. all in all, he got off pretty well, no injuries, still smiling. left there 28th july, spent two weeks with him and the family. they're pretty well ok. still the best place to stay in my books.
