Transport to Aragum Bay

What is best option for travelling to Aragum Bay from Colombo?

RE: Transport to Aragum Bay

I just did it last weekend man and it ain't easy.  You can either get a private van-like thing which is about 80$, or you can take the bus from Pettah for like 260 rs. (super cheap)  However, this bus is insanely crowded, and you have to (really, cause this ruined one weekend for me) book tickets on the morning of your departure.  That's the CTB bus, which leaves at 8:30 pm and is an all nighter.  There's a private bus too (a little more expensive and comfortable - but still not really) and that leaves at like 6 in the morning from Pettah too.  Either way its a 10 hour grueling trip - but abay is superb and those pointbreaks are very worth the trip. I suggest the ctb as its cheap but don't forget you r valium, and show up early or you'll be standing for 10 hours.  Hope this helps,

yeah its that easy

RE: Transport to Aragum Bay

hey getting to A bay isnt hard at all i waited at the bus station in colombo for about 5 hrs then a local bus for 10hrs to A bay then a tuk tuk into the village where u stay and walk to the point it aint grulling at all not like indo standards, yeah takes a while shit bus and roads but its cool man. pretty cheap, either that or get a van from airport, and u can always buy tikets with a little extra cash if needed, oh and A bay is an average wave FULL of japs, israeli kooks, its fun but aint world class, best currys in the world tho, try around midigamma for reefs and ahngama for a nice beach reef.oh and dont take valiums on a bus in a 3rd world country unless u wanna be robbed that just plain ridiculous.
