surf (board for sale?), travel, work, whatever« on: April 16 2009 02:04:00 »
Hey all, I'm an Aussie guy heading to southern Sri Lanka for some waves and good times this coming May(end) - June, July, maybe longer. I've been working over the border in Southern India and in much need of beach, surf and more open people.
I'll be travelling alone so if anyone out there wants to meet up for a wave or a drink then get back to me. Also, if anyone has a board to sell then I'm interested - something around 6'6 would be sweet.
Hope to hear back -

My son & I going there end of March - Last trip to Hikkaduwa I used hire boards BUT took a while to find anything close to rideable. Does anyone have a better source than beachside? Too much hassle bringing them ourselves - they usually get knocked about when we swap planes.

i just come back from sri lanka. i surfed in mirissa beach for 4weeks. i found it very difficult to find / rent / buy good boards. i heard that in hikkaduwa you have the best surf shops, where you find good material. the ones you can rent are usually in a very bad condition.... you prob. go to arugam bay in may !? i do not know about the material they rent or sell there. but i made the experiance that it is best to arrive with your board....
have fun and good waves....
