Surfing in and around Göteborg.
Just Outside GBG in the Skärgård
Hummervik on Öckerö - West wind over 12m/s
Rörö - West or even North West wind 10 m/s +
lots of rocks and current at both places, nice atmosphere
Just South of Gbg - Åsa (Kungbacka) - stenudden-
South West wind 10 m/s + or very strong South wind
multiple breaks, less rocks but can get crowded
More South of Gbg - Varberg - Kåsa (lilla apelviken)
Sand beachbreak, mellow
Just North of Gbg Marstrand, West wind, well known for sailing, very few ever venture to the West side for surf.
More North - Bohuslän , lots of secret spots on a West swell, Bohus Malmön works on SW.
See you in the water,

I'm going to Sweden on August as well. I've been hearing it's a good season to surf in the old country, but i still find it hard to believe there's surf in Sweden... i'll probably give it a shot thug. If i can manage to find a board up there and one of those full winter suits (that we dond't need in the caribbean) i'd be glad to ride some waves up there

I'll try find some of the spots.
See you there.

Did you get wet in Sweden? I've been to Sweden 4 times and have not seen any rideable surf. My last trip I did see potential on Gotland...I'm pretty sure what I was looking at were wakes from the tankers that were on the way to Stockholm. Nevertheless it did look rideable and the topography of the place definately shows potential. Keep in touch.

so, no luck anyone?
have been curious about surfing this area since my first visit for musical exploration.
on that note, this is a brilliant letter written by local band AIR FRANCE showing their love for the city and even writing a song for it as the 3rd part.
check it out. cheers, NW
