Hi! There's always somewhere to surf in Tahiti all year around.
It's all a matter of what you'll looking for .Of course its better if you're an experienced surfer but you don't need to be a champion .If you surf regularly you should be all right out on the reefs depending on size .You can be more adventurous and try out Haapiti then progress on more agressive waves .
Just be prepared to do some padlling.
Sapinus( lefts only) is not far from town and its an all around wave.Great first reef breakexperience for starting out Longboard or short board and not far from shore .Just in front of the Meridian Hotel on the West coast
