Hey! Im coming over to Taiwan to teach soon in Taipei and id like to know if anyone there can tell me how easy it is to get surfing lessons out there? Ive never been on a board before, but really want to!! any help you can give me will be much appreciated! Thanks!

hey rob, I read your post asking about surfing lessons in Taiwan. I would also be interested in geting some lessons and finding out if there are any rental shops etc. lLet me know if you found anything? Thanks

It said my post was too long. But here are directions:
If you don't have a car. You can take the MRT to Danshui station. Take the Danshui-KeeLung bus. Tell the driver to help you (best if you write the chinese characters and then show him) and he will tell you when to get off.
it is about 45 minutes out of Danshui..
When you get off the bus, cross the street to the store with the big yellow sign...

There is a great surf school / Bar / Hostel with good burgers in Yilan at the Wai'ao train station. Good surf instructor from California who can really help you get up on a board the first time!
