Cheap surftrip to Thailand or somewhere else in Asia« on: October 25 2004 15:10:00 »
Does anyone know if there is a nice surfspot with cheap accomodation in Thailand? Or is it better to surf somewhere else in Asia?
Planing to stay in Thailand for 6 month or more. That`s why it has to be cheap. I`m still beginner but trying to get better and better. Getting also into that spiritual thing. So it should not be overcrowded at this place.

Cheap, not so crowded, glassy or slight offshores, 4-5' left and rights maybe?
Once you found it, let me know.

I`ve heard some awesome storys about Indonesia. But somewhere in this forum it had been discussed that it`s hard to get a Visa for more than 2 months. Do you have any idea?
And you should know: I`m not American! Huahaha:-)

I'm a beginner myself, and I didnt end up in Phuket to surf, but I end up surfing in Kata for a couple of days. Check out a site phuketsurf.com thats website and name of a shop that rents. Its owned by thai gal and her sister helps her out. The waves over a period of 4 days was sporadic. For a couple of hours one day there were good beginner waves and some too big for me, but then some days there was nothing. Not too quiet though, lots of tourist around. But I know some inexpensive places to stay. I was just there in septemeber
Central America..Costa Rica, Nicuraguga...they have some good surf spots, and the latinos are good people, and its cheap.
