I plan to have a vacation at koh samui this xmas. Just wonder if there are any good waves by the time and any board for rent? is chaweng suitable for beginner? n any other beach to visit for? Thanks~~

i have seem 2 to 3 foot surf at chaweng if you are lucky enough to arrive there on the very rare occassion of some swell it is prefect for begginners although i did not see any surf hire facilties around.try lami beach south of chewang

I was in Koh Samui last xmas and there was NOTHING!!!! I spoke to somea the locals bout it and they said there used to be waves but havent been for a few years now...?!? I dunno...I drove around the island searching for some anyway with no luck!maybe it was just a bad fornight!
