Opinions wanted on Walden Surfboards (for a novice)« on: October 15 2009 09:10:00 »
I used to be a hardcore surfer; but now I am old and fat (trying to get a bit less fat though!). I'm returning to surfing and have pretty much outgrown my old shortboards, so I'm seriously thinking of getting a longboard (I'll probably get a funboard later too). I'm in Korea, where selection is very limited, but there are some Waldens.
I've kind of become focused on a 9'6" length, as 9'0" might not seem "longboardish" enough, and much bigger would be a pain to carry around.
I'm interested in their regular epoxy 9'6" ( http://www.waldensurfboards.com/2009-96-Epoxy-Magic-Model--P1137C126.aspx ), and their 9'6" carbon rails model ( http://www.waldensurfboards.com/2009-SLX-carbon-rail-EPS-Magic-model-P1142C52.aspx ). Any advice?

Well, I was just surfing in Thailand (Kata Beach, Phuket -- on rental boards), but I see this is in kind of the wrong area. Anyway, any replies would still be appreciated!
