I went to Koh Lanta and got a surf lesson from Sam at koh Lanta Watersports. He is an Australian and didn't just push me on a wave but taught everything from reading the ocean to paddle technique, correct position on the board as well as standing. I have had lessons before but learned heaps. This was in June, really good for novices there.
