Surfing Phuket in July

« on: February 27 2011 18:02:00 »

Hi

I am planning a holiday in July to surf throughout Phuket. Which is better/more consistent: South of Patong (Kata Noi, Karon, Nai Harn, Kalim etc) or north (Kamala, Surin, Nai Yang etc)? I am going for 3-4 weeks and want to get the best waves possible.
Thanks
Jake

Patong : no
Karon : no
South of Patong, a bit more crowded but still very acceptable.
North of Patong : a bit wilder and less people, and can have really good waves.
Can not give the good spots online otherwise I get killed, but by staying one month you'll find out.

Thanks PJ

I wouldnt expect any good spots to be named online as I would be angry at anyone giving these away, I was just after a general idea and you provided it.

Cheers
Jake

Also head up to Khao Lak or over to Koh Lanta - less people and still good waves
