There are 3 main places to surf in June - Phuket - which has a variety of breaks, the more popular being Kata. Khao Lak is about 40 minutes up the coast and also has good surf and less people. Finally Koh Lanta is off the beaten track but has good surf and no crowds. All these places you can hire boards. You pay for what you get here with the quality of boards but you can hire from any of these spots.
