Question regarding jetblue airways and surfboard allowance

« on: October 15 2012 16:10:00 »

hey everyone,

I booked a flight with jetblue airways from burlington to liberia, on their website, it only says

'What is accepted:
One surfboard per case. Note: Items weighing more than one hundred pounds (100 lbs) will not be accepted as checked baggage. We recommend that surfboards travel in a hard-sided (rather than soft-sided) case to prevent damage.', (they do not mention anything about length or size.)

However, in another section I've read that Bags larger than 80 inches will not be accepted. Does this also apply for surfboards?? Because my surfboard bag is 88 inches...

anybody had an experience carrying surfboard bag longer than 80 inches on jetblue??

thanks a lot

I took a boardbag of 7'4 last year no proble, they are pretty surfer friendly airline. Unlike Britisch Airways
