Lesson 1 How to fly with a surf boad.
1:- Find board roughly 9' long
2:- Open you arms out as tho you were making the letter T
3:- Find a friend to tie the board across your back.
4:- Find large enough mountain
5:- Jump off and hope for the best

No no no you have it all wrong, get a pair of jet rockets and some wings, put the wings on the side of your board (duct tape works the best) and strap the rockets on the back of your board.....
Seriously - Hard cases are best for traveling, reduces bumps against your board...and i would call the airline you are taking to ask how much it would be to take your board (costs depend on how big and how much it weights)

AA demolished my 9'6" Robt August. Took it to Nica, ok. Then back through MIA to Cabarete, Dom Rep. Ok. Somewhere from the DR to DCA, AA destroyed it. I had it bubble-wrapped & covered & in travel case. Offered me nothing. From now on: surfcase.
