Think Santa Cruz 3-3.5 hours fron Sac Town. San Francisco has Pacifica and there's some spots in Marin but Santa Cruz is the placce.
Suggest you concentrate on snowboarding in the winter. Head east on 80 or 50 for some fun.

I take that 2.5 hour drive about once every two weeks and am looking for some people to go/share gas. If interested or know fellow sac-town surfers, firstname.lastname@example.org

Anyone else surf that lives in Sac Town hit me up, gas is expensive!

Secret spot, didja say? OK, here's one. Gray Whale Cove. It also goes by another name, just delete the "r" and substitute an "M" for the "Wh". You will like the waves, the locals should be kept away from.
