If you see waves in Miami I will say 'buy me a lottery ticket sir ... you are one lucky fella!'
Unforunately the Bahamas screw things up. Swell comes in if there are weather systems to the southest or northwest of the bahamas. from the northwest there is a spot on southbeach , by the southern most breakwater ... ive seen it working once ... it got packed with surfers jumping with joy! Still there are a load of dedicated people who will surf whatever nature doesnt throw at them!

Head north of jupiter inlet to get better surf north of miami by 2 hours or more .. further north away from the bahamas the better. by the way ... you will get 15 knot sea breezes most days.
good luck

Surfed in South Beach this morning, was fun 2-4 ft. occasional 5 ft. Best spot is by the jetty. Same spot as the  So Be cam on Surfline. Came down from Central Florida to party...thought Id bring my board just in case, got up in the morning to pay my meter and saw another surfer in gear, so I went to check it out. Was good to go. I was stoked I stayed the extra day.

Not much local vibe. Perfect place to surf, really amazing. Not very common, you just gotta have your board with you. +-30 people out on a monday morning.

when you hit ocean drive from Miami, take a right, its about a half mile down to the left, behind Marriot. Check the reports this week, should be good actually tomorrow (Tuesday)25th.
