Brit intermediate surfer's first trip to States...« on: October 22 2006 05:10:00 »
Hi, hoping to get away from the UK miserable winter for some surf in warmer climes.
My requirements are:
1) Preferably warm and sunny, beach breaks
2) Not far from a popular (hence cheap flights) international airport
3) Campsites nearby
4) Fairly consistent surf in Dec/Jan (doesn't have to be big)
My initial thoughts were flying to Miami, surfing somewhere round there? But totally open to ANYWHERE else, as long as my flight costs aren't too bad.
Any advice gratefully received...

Have you looked at California yet ? Flights from UK to Los Angeles are always very reasonable and there are loads of possibilities out there for intermediate surfers... I would have a look over there... went there myself last year and had a great time...loads of campsites near Santa Barbara area and down from LA to San Diego are also plenty of opportunities for both waves and places to stay... good luck !
