Surfing Alaska

« on: February 10 2009 10:02:00 »

I was raised in AK, but only surfed while on vacation.... I never really thought much about surfing here, so Im going to give it a go. I would consider myself an intermediate - surfed in Hawaii, Mexico, Cali, and Washington. Im looking for any advice... what kind of wet/dry suit do I need to buy? accomodations? surf spots? There are only a few surf spots listed, but I know Alaska has much more. I live in Anchorage, are there any surf sports within a reasonable distance? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
