where are good spots in oregon during winter« on: November 14 2009 09:11:00 »
Hey everyone. I am a beginner looking for a decent place to go to in oregon during december. I know that it will be cold as hell but I am assuming that it is doable considering that my roomate is doing some surfing in Halifax at around the sametime.

the best places for beginners are otter rock, about 20 miles north of Newport. Also Short sands near portland. The problem with Oregon is that the ocean turns into a washing machine most the winter, unless your confident in riding some big waves. You might have to hope for a pocket of smaller swell and no wind in order to hit a good day in Dec. Just be prepared for cold weather and fridged temps.. sore bro.
