RE: Where to surf near from NYC ?« Reply #1 on: May 02 2010 07:05:890 »
Hey there. There are tons of places to surf in New York. If you are living in the city the easiest spot to hit is probably the rockaways, they are the closest to the city. You can also take the train to Long Beach. From Manhattan it is probably like a 45min train ride. Once in L.B. you can walk to the beach. However, if you have a car you are open to so many more options. You can drive from the rockaways all the way out to Eastern Long Island and surf the Hamptons and Montauk. If you do have a car and the wind is west you can also take an hour and a half trip down to North jersey. Good luck! NY is a fun place, big beaches next to a big city...awesome
