Sail/Surf Adventure!« on: September 17 2012 09:09:00 »
So....I have never surfed before. I skate and snowboard, but have never surfed. From what I hear it is much different. Anyways, I really want to learn how to ride waves. I am also in desperate need of a long vacation. After watching the documentary "180 South" I realize that is what I want. I would love to assist someone with sailing their boat, while seeing other countries and learning how to surf. I don't know what the first step is though. Anyone have any experience? I need an adventure!

I have thought of starting in Southern California and getting my bearings for surfing for a few weeks and then possibly working my way south down the Western coast of Mexico. I am open to flying somewhere different to start, but have know idea where in the world has a good fall season with warm water. Starting off in a surf school would be amazing, but I don't want to burn all my cash in the first week learning. I am open to the idea of surf school to start though. Comments on any of these shaky subjects would be a huge help to me!
