Efate, Vanuatu Surf lessons??« on: February 26 2009 19:02:00 »
Hi, I'm going over to Vanuatu in May/June and was wondering if there's any Surf Lessons on The Efate island??
I did a little bit of surfing years ago and am not confident enough to just go try without some supervision.
Also, is there anywhere you can hire boards?

Kylie, I don't know if there are any surf lessons there. But there is a group of local surfers in the village at Pango Point (20 minutes from Villa). I left them a whole lot of surfboards (long and short) a few years ago. They are really good guys and if you tell them Darryl sent you , they will supply you with a board and will watch out for you in the surf. Go to Pango village and ask for Kathlene. She will help you. Good luck.

I am going there in August and would like a few lessons too, I have not practice since a few years!
Can you let me know how it turns out your surfing trip?
Can you let me know any spot for beginners or all levels?

I'm looking for some good spots for beginners on Vanuatu! I've read, that there are some beach breaks on Efate. Does anybody of you know a cheap accommodation close to these spots (or on any other island of Vanuatu where I can find some "beginner spots")!
Thanks for your help!

no beachies on efate, all reef breaks so be careful if ur beginner. Gets dangerous when its small at only 1-3ft because it breaks very shallow over sharp reef. You need 4ft plus to get decent waves that peel.
