Posada del Gobernador it's a place with a great view over Chirimena town and bay. I've heard it's a great place to stay.
Chirimena is a great beachbreak, when a swell makes it's way thru. This year it has being breaking constantly, last time i was there a couple of weeks ago it was 6-7 ft both left and rights, with off shore wind... great surf
However Chirimena does not always break, but you can walk your way to Chirere a few minutes from Chirimena. Chirere it's choppier and a little bit bigger than Chirimena, with strung currents.
I like better Chirimena, and it is also a better spot for a beginner.
I wouldn't mind localism, as long as you respect em', and DONT DROP IN IN THEIR WAVES
Good luck, i'm sure you'll have a blast!

besos luly trotta.

I surfed chirimena in the 70’s and 80’s. “El Viejo Hernan “de Caracas
Chirimena is good when is big.
Keep going to chirere first, if chirere is so big that you can not paddle in , and is closing out. Then it’s time to surf chirimena. get ready to paddle for 30 minutes. Check out corralito, to the other side, rocks, fun sometimes
When chirimena is big, the water reaches to the homes on the bay. I surfed it, with only a hand full of friends.
