surfing in august« on: July 17 2005 07:07:00 »
I make a trip around south america with friends. In August we are staying in Venezuela and we want to surf. Is it possible to surf in this periode of the year? The rest of our trip we are not at the seaside therefore we want to rend a surfboard. It's difficult to rend some boards?

Hi mate! August season ain't too hot in the caribbean seasides; you should expect 2-3 feet waves when it's good, and flat as a board a handful of times.
However, August marks the beggining of the Hurricane season (which has already started a little early) and this year's predicitions point a remarkable one, so it's not entirely a bad idea going up the beach a couple of times.
Renting a board is not as easy as buying one. You should try buying an used board (boardshops usually hold a lot of used boards which they sell for a good price) and perhaps you could sell it again to the boardshop, when done with the surf.
Good luck, see ya around
