I just surfed at the "beach club".. its really a kite and wind surfing spot as i guess it is always windy (the couple days i was there it was super blown out) but i rented a board from them for an hour (7$) and battled the wind and got a couple junky rides.. absolutely nothing like the pictures, perhaps there is a season or something for the better rides. the guy at the shop said its the only surfable spot in southern cambodia

The visa fee to enter Viet Nam was US$90 at the VN embassy in Bangkok with a 6 hour waiting period.The ferry is about a half hour cab ride from the airport and costs about $10. I took the hydrofoil from Saigon to Vung Tau. The cost was US$25 each way, it took about 90 minutes. Then got a cab from the ferry to Vung Tau Beach Club... a couple of bucks. There were plenty of boards for hire and lots of Russians there. It was late August. The surf was 1ft on the biggest sets. I went body surfing then went home. Totally worth it
