What is best to wear?« on: June 05 2006 12:06:00 »
Im going surfing in Llangennith in the first week of August and dont currently own a wetsuit. I am currently thinking about whether i cud get away with not getting a full suit, and just wearing a rash vest and swim shorts? I know this will be pretty cold, but will i die from it, or is it bareable?
People with any experience of this, their comments will be muchly appreciated.

Im going to Newquay this Summer and all i usually wear is Rash vests and boardies. Its cold at first but you get used to it, plus you constantly moving so youll keep warm. Its not nessessary to wear a full wetsuit unless its winter.
Hope thats kind of helpful.

You can't be for real? England is not warm enough for boardies! You need at least a 2mm suit in the summer for you cardio system to fuel your body in these sort of water temps. Its ok fookin around but if you wanna surf get a wetsuit. Thats what they are for!

In answer to the origional post's question, would recco a wetsuit, 3-2 summer, 5mm winter..
Smam you really are stupid..Why don't you read the post you dork.. Since when was Wales in England you stupid twat. For your info by the way the water temp has been warm enough "IN WALES" for shorts and rashy, so until you've tried it keep your uninformed opinions to yourself..

You absolute tw*t! Thats why everyone sees the Welsh as a bunch of numpties!
I was quite clearly drawing a comparison to the water temp in ENGLAND against the temps suggested for Wales. For your information i lived in Wales for 8 years and have encountered so much BS from people like you it makes me laugh. Wales is a poor relation to Devon/Cornwall in surf, culture and attitude and thus, you my friend have 'self-owned'!
Enjoy Wales..... your more than welcome to it!

Hey guys I thought Wales was a city in London, England. Is it in the North or south of London, England.
I'm coming to London, England for a couple of weeks surfing and I heard Wales is a good break. How big does the swell get in September?

Smam your mum should wash your potty mouth out with soap young lady, tut tut tut.. Actually I'm Irish and was visiting Wales and had the pleasure of wearing Boardies. Have to say found them very friendly and welcoming. Obviously if you have a bad view of the Welsh, or had a bad experience you must be a summer surfer kook who has a bit of a chip on your shoulder, or a hypocrite staying in a place you didn't like..
Now you must understand the English language came after the Celtic language, to simplify things for people (like yourself) who couldn't get to grip with their native tongue.
