I was brought up not far from the north Wales coast, and beleive me when I say that there aint no surfing there. However (there's always a silver lining!), if you have a car you can travel west to Abersock on the Lleyn Peninsular - apparantly it's a real surfers spot. Although I haven't been to Abersock, I have been on the north side of the peninsular near Tudweiliog, which has the whole 'beachy-chilled-out-lets camp-here-forever' feel about it!
