Samoa Family Friendly Surf Holiday« on: March 27 2006 18:03:00 »
Would love some suggestions for family friendly fale accommodation on both Savaii and Upolo. Kids are aged 12 and 7 and 12 year old surfs. Thinking of 5 nts at Coconuts but would also like to "rough" it in fale accommodation but it would have to be kid friendly (ie. clean nearby toilets, good meals, good location), close to surf spots for husband and son to surf and good beachside location for us non-surfers. Thanks.

most accomm is rough (rustic) unless it is one of the over priced resorts.
there is one place for about $100 aus in from of coconuts (I think it was called "Maninoa Surf Camp", there was another just up the road, really "rustic" and half the price, some people we met loved it.
found a great place to stay at the eastern end/corner of Upolu, do some research there also

Forget Maninoa for the family, but Sina PJ is great and you can paddle tot he waves from there. Savaii; satiatuatua and Anganoa wuld also be perfect.

Im in same boat as you kids 6 and 14 Im thinking Aggie Greys Deluxe Garden Bungalow. Ive got friends that are locals and they said its the best place to stay. They never heard of coconuts and the price is over 1/2 price cheaper It's 5 mins from Apai. Markets are in Apai, and airport is near and pick up and drop off appears free? However coconuts is very descerning and looks quite special. It's approx 15-20 mins drive cross island from resort to resort so I've been told
