RE: Surfing Itacare

Itacare is beautiful!!! the people are super amicably, the surfing in the beach gives Tiririca it is very good, but generally in the morning, because in the evening it raises little wind, I recommend to you to visit " Barra Grande" there are immense virgin beaches, with very good waves

Surfing Itacare

Hi, I'm going to Itacare in August - I'll be there from the 11tht to the 19th. I'm staying at Pousada Girassol (www.itacare.com/pousada/girassol/ ), though I hear all of the little Pousadas in town are nice and cheap. I booked through the Easy Drop Surf Camp (easydrop.com).

RE: Surfing Itacare

I live in Itacare and run a small hotel on Praia da Concha, (www.coqueiro-verde.com) and surf when I can.

I know a couple of good surf teachers I could hook you up with when you arrive in town. Expect to pay around R$80/day.

There are board hire shops all over town. Expect to pay between R$15-R$30 a day for a board dependng on the lenght of hire and quality of board.

People are just great in Itacare'!
Go to Creperia to get nice people and if you are looking for a place to stay you can go to TIRIRICA...Pousada Terral.
You will have fun! It's nice and it's full of night life and music as well
Hug!

RE: Surfing Itacare

Some of the locals are assholes. They feel they are entitled to what is yours if your a traveler. Thor rents alright boards. When I was there I rented a studio apartment on the street behind thors shop and it was really nice for 20 R$ a night. It was the off season though. Also, go to nigenhoca sp?. It is totally worth the 20 minute bus ride and will be soon privatized by an uber fancy hotel. Hurry and get it while its still public

RE: Surfing Itacare

Itacare worst the visit. Surfers in Brazil are mostly the same. Too many surfers in main spots.  But if you can search and walk or rent a bike or a car you will find the most incredible beaches arround with no crowd.  If need someone to take care of the transport to the spots or classes dont doubt to check easydrop.com, I saw this people in the water teaching and taking care of everyone.  Great people, good place to stay, the best surfcamp ever seen.
