Dalhousie Halifax Surfing

« on: September 14 2005 18:09:00 »

Hey, I'm thinking of going to university in Halifax next year.  Just wondering if anyone else that goes to Dalhousie surfs and how far the surf is.  I've heard there are some great spots nearby and i'm all set up with winter gear.  Any info would be great.  Thanks

I'm in a similar boat, it would be cool to study somewhere where I could surf. How close to the uni can you find waves?

I went to Dal a couple years ago and still live in Halifax because of the surf. It is just over 1/2 an hour away to the beach.
As far as I know this is the only city in Canada with decent surf near by.  I often hear the west praised, but with the 3 hour drive from Victoria never mind the ferry from Vancouver I think I'll stay in the east for surf.

Great surfing out here!  About a 20 min. drive from the campus in St. Lawrence town.  It seems like you know that its cold because you have your winter gear. You're set!
